Receiptly.ai is an iPhone app that turns paper and emailed receipts into something you can search. Photograph a receipt and it reads the shop, date, items and total on your iPhone; you check it, fix anything it misread, and save. Later, search for the thing you bought — “milk”, a shop, an amount, a month — and open the original photo whenever you need the real paper.

Use it without an account, and everything stays on your iPhone.
Sign in with Apple, Google or email to back up your receipts (and their photos, unless you turn that off) and get them back on a new iPhone.
Share the receipts you choose with your family.
Optionally import receipts from Gmail — read on your iPhone, with read-only access you can disconnect at any time.

Common questions

Where are my receipts stored?

Without an account: only on your iPhone, in an encrypted database, with photos in the app’s private storage. Nothing is sent to us.

With an account: on your iPhone, and backed up to your private account on Google Cloud in the United States — receipt details, and their photos unless you turn photo backup off (Settings → Cloud Sync → Photos). See the privacy policy for exactly what is kept and why.

Will my receipts come back on a new iPhone?

Yes, if you sign in. Sign in on the new iPhone with the same account and your receipts come back; photos from the last 12 months download over Wi-Fi, and older ones when you open them (or all at once from Settings → Cloud Sync → Photos → “Download all photos”).

Without an account, receipts stay on the iPhone they were saved on — export them first (Settings → Export) if you switch phones.

Open the Family tab, create a family, and invite people with a code. Then share individual receipts, or choose to share everything. Family members see the receipts you share, with your name on them; they cannot change them.

How does Gmail import work?

Settings → Gmail. Receiptly asks Google for read-only access, finds receipt emails, reads them on your iPhone, and shows each one for you to review before it is saved. Emails are never sent to our server. Disconnect at any time in Settings, or remove access in your Google Account.

How do I get my receipts out?

Settings → Export — CSV for a spreadsheet, or PDF. Both are made on your iPhone.

The app read something wrong. What do I do?

Tap “See photo” to check the original, then Edit and fix the field. Receiptly remembers store-name and category corrections for that store’s next receipts.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a receipt in the app and it is deleted from your account too. To delete everything: Settings → Cloud Sync → “Delete account and all data”. You can also email us and we will delete your account within 30 days.

How do I turn on the app lock?

Settings → App Lock. It uses Face ID or Touch ID, falling back to your passcode.

Does the app use my data for anything else?

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and nothing is sold. Your receipts and photos are never used to train any model.
